The Baucher is an ideal bit for dressage, acting as a transitional bit between a snaffle and a Weymouth to introduce horse or rider to leverage. The double broken mouthpiece prevents the "nutcracker" action of a traditional snaffle bit, balances weight distribution along the jaw, and avoids pressure on the horse's palate. The sweet copper mouth offers better acceptance because it encourages the horse to chew, thus enhancing the saliva production.\
