The innovative "wings" on this bit solve many of the issues of a loose ring snaffle without making it more severe. The lateral wings prevent the bit from pinching the sides of the mouth, encouraging the horse to accept the outside rein, and also prevent the bit from moving too much within the mouth. The double broken mouthpiece prevents the "nutcracker" action of a traditional snaffle bit, balances weight distribution along the jaw, and avoids pressure on the horse's palate. The sweet copper mouth offers better acceptance because it encourages the horse to chew, thus enhancing saliva production.
